Aya Class Level System Overview

Introductory Class

Foundations & Restorative (No Experience Required)

These classes are designed to create comfort, familiarity, body awareness, and emotional grounding. Students learn how to interact with the hammock safely while developing strength, mobility, and confidence at a pace that nourishes the nervous system.

Level - 1

Aerial Float & Sound (Restorative)

This deeply soothing class is designed to regulate the nervous system and support emotional decompression. Students gently rest inside the hammock, allowing the body to surrender into weightlessness ..

while being bathed in the healing resonance of crystal singing bowls, chimes, drums, and vibrational sound therapy instruments. The hammock becomes an energetic cocoon, symbolic of transformation and held safety. This class is ideal for stress relief, anxiety regulation, emotional processing, meditation, nervous system healing, and somatic restoration. Expect to leave feeling lighter, clearer, and deeply nourished from the inside out.

Aerial Flow ( Foundational Movement & Expansion)

A gentle introduction to aerial yoga that blends mindful movement, conscious breathwork, and the therapeutic support of the silk hammock. Students practice fluid transitions, grounding shapes,

and heart-opening postures while using the hammock as a stabilizer, guide, and extension of the body. This class supports increased circulation, myofascial release, flexibility, core activation, and neuromuscular coordination. The practice emphasizes learning to *trust yourself* and your body’s inherent intelligence as you move between surrender and strength. Ideal for those seeking body awareness, emotional grounding, and confidence building.

Aerial Yin (Restorative Healing & Deep Somatic Release)

This practice focuses on surrender, nervous system healing, and slow, supported shapes held for extended periods to release stored tension from deep tissues

and emotional memory layers. The hammock becomes a nurturing cradle for the body to soften, process, and let go. This is a deeply therapeutic practice for emotional healing, trauma release, stress recovery, and nervous system recalibration.

Aerial Low Fly (Grounded Flow & Exploration)

This class brings the hammock lower to the floor, emphasizing gentle and intuitive movement sequences that feel supportive and accessible. Students learn foundational wraps, transitional connectivity, and flowing movement patterns that help create fluidity in the body.

The focus is on opening, lengthening, grounding, and exploring the joy of movement without strain. This class is deeply supportive for beginners, those healing injuries, or anyone desiring a slower, intuitive practice. The tone is calm yet exploratory, playful yet deeply restorative.

Aerial Stretch (Mobility, Flexibility & Release)

A full-body elongation and decompression experience designed to unwind deep muscular tension and encourage fascial hydration and mobility. The hammock aids in creating space in the joints, improving spinal alignment, and preventing strain while stretching. Students will move slowly and consciously,

holding poses long enough to allow tissue release and energetic softening. This class is ideal for athletes, high-stress individuals, and those experiencing stiffness or tension accumulation.

Aerial Yoga (Foundational)

A supportive introduction to aerial yoga that teaches students how to safely enter, exit, and control movement within the hammock. Students learn gentle inversion techniques, alignment awareness, grip foundations, balance strengthening, and mindful breath support. The structure of class cultivates empowerment, embodiment, and emotional self-support. Perfect for absolute beginners.

Intro 2 Aerial (Skill Foundation & Safety Training)

This class provides the foundational training necessary to progress safely in aerial arts. Students learn how to mount the hammock, support body weight efficiently, engage safely in inversions, and understand proper grip techniques, core activation, and wrap awareness. This is a structured learning environment designed to build confidence and capability.

Aerial Lyra I (Introduction To Hoop Technique)

This class teaches students how to safely enter, exit, and move around the aerial hoop. Students learn foundational mounts, seated poses, supported hangs, shapes, beginner transitions, and controlled movement awareness. Focus is on building strength gradually while fostering confidence and creative exploration.

Level - 2

Strength, Conditioning & Flow Progression

This level builds stamina, strength endurance, aerial awareness, and consistent sequencing capability.

Aerial Fitness (Conditioning, Sculpt & Endurance)

This is an energizing full-body conditioning class that blends aerial

hammock-supported strength training, functional movement, and core activation. Students develop endurance, muscular tone, grip strength, upper body power, and aerial coordination through dynamic flow and sculpt-based sequencing. Expect to sweat, strengthen, and expand your athletic capacity while still maintaining the mindful, embodied integrity of the AYA movement philosophy.

Aerial Lyra II(Extended Flow, Strength & Creative Expansion)

For students who have completed Lyra I or have equivalent experience.

This class develops controlled transitions, advanced mounts, integrated sequencing, hanging pathways, and movement exploration with artistic continuity. Supports building strength, endurance, expression, and personal creative identity in the hoop.

Level - 3

Aerial Cirque (Choreography, Sequencing & Advanced Technique)

This class is for experienced aerial practitioners who are ready to expand into cirque-inspired sequencing, dynamic wraps, drops, endurance flow cycles, controlled transitions, and expressive performance arc movement. Students will learn how to shape emotional storytelling through movement while building upper-body strength, grip power, and aerial stamina. Requires: comfort in inversions, foundational wraps, and stable aerial awareness.

All Levels

Family Aerial (Ages 7 +)

A joyful, interactive class encouraging playful exploration and bonding. Families learn to trust each other, laugh, create shapes together, and enjoy the wonder of aerial movement. Builds confidence, sensory awareness, emotional connection, and shared memory experiences.

Open Studio (Practice & Creative Development)
